Dry Lands and the Deadmans Drought




We took our swim lessons in the dirt and thought none of us had seen the water fall.

We still waited for that rain to come or that tide to roll in.

Yet imagined only it receeding further into some distance,

because we had only ever known the one temperature of the one season.
